Product Description

Natural cleanse. Gentle protection. Whole-body support.

Carnivore Care Diatomaceous Earth is a 100% pure, food-grade supplement made from fossilized freshwater algae (diatoms). This fine powder works as a natural internal cleanser and external pest deterrent—helping to control parasites, support detoxification, and improve coat and digestive health in dogs and cats.

When fed in small amounts, it may help eliminate internal parasites and improve nutrient absorption. When applied externally, it can naturally repel fleas and ticks—without chemicals or synthetic additives. Available in 280 g and 1 kg sizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is diatomaceous earth for dogs and cats?

Diatomaceous earth is a naturally occurring powder made from the fossilized remains of microscopic aquatic organisms called diatoms. Carnivore Care Diatomaceous Earth is 100% food-grade diatomaceous earth that can be mixed into your dog or cat’s food.

Is food-grade diatomaceous earth safe for dogs and cats?

Food-grade diatomaceous earth can be used for dogs and cats when fed according to the recommended directions. Mixing it thoroughly into moist food is the easiest way to use it.

What is the difference between food-grade and pool-grade diatomaceous earth?

They are very different products. Food-grade diatomaceous earth is purified and intended for uses involving food or animal feed. Pool or filter-grade diatomaceous earth has been processed differently and should never be fed to pets. Always choose a product clearly identified as food-grade.

Can diatomaceous earth help with intestinal worms or parasites?

Diatomaceous earth is commonly used by pet owners as part of a natural parasite-care routine, but there is not enough reliable evidence to consider it a proven treatment for intestinal worms in dogs or cats. If you suspect your pet has parasites, testing can identify the type of parasite and help determine the appropriate treatment.

How much diatomaceous earth should I give my dog or cat?

The recommended daily feeding amount for Carnivore Care Diatomaceous Earth is ½ teaspoon per 10 lb of body weight. Mix it thoroughly into your pet’s food and always make sure fresh water is available.

Can diatomaceous earth be used for fleas and ticks?

Diatomaceous earth can kill certain insects through physical contact by damaging their protective outer layer and causing them to dry out. It works by mechanical action on pests such as fleas and ticks, making it a useful natural option to support your pet’s overall parasite care routine.

How should I add diatomaceous earth to my pet’s food?

The easiest way is to mix it thoroughly into raw food, fresh food, canned food, or another moist meal. You can also mix it with a small amount of water before adding it to food.
